Delete your account and data

Effective September 12, 2026

You can delete your Spell It Infinity account yourself, from inside the app, at any time. It is real deletion rather than deactivation, it happens immediately, and you do not need to ask us or wait for a reply. This page explains how, exactly what is removed, and the one thing that is kept.

Delete it yourself, in the app

  1. Open Spell It Infinity.
  2. Tap You in the bottom bar.
  3. Tap Settings, then Delete account.
  4. Type your player name exactly as it appears, to confirm.
  5. Tap Delete.

We ask you to type your own name rather than tick a box because this cannot be undone. A checkbox is muscle memory; your own name is not something you type by accident.

Guest players can delete too. An account you never signed up for still holds a person's data, so the same option is there without an email address.

If you cannot reach the app

If you have lost the device, uninstalled the app, or cannot sign in, email spellitsupport@codefromhome.com from the address on the account, with the subject Delete my account. We will confirm who you are, delete the account, and reply to tell you it is done, within 30 days and usually within a few working days.

If you never gave us an email address, tell us your player name and roughly when you last played, and we will do our best to find the account. We may not be able to, and we would rather say so than delete somebody else's data.

What is deleted

All of this is removed immediately and permanently:

What is kept, and why

Word games are played with other people, and their games cannot be unpicked without destroying somebody else's record of an evening they spent playing. So the boards stay, and your name comes off them.

KeptWhat happens to it
Tiles you played on shared boards They stay on the board, because removing them would break the game for everyone else at that table. Your name is replaced everywhere it appeared.
Finished game results and leaderboard entries Kept as a record of the game, with your name replaced.
Quick chat phrases Preset phrases from a fixed list, kept as part of the board's history and no longer attached to you. Anything you typed yourself is deleted.
One deletion record A single row noting that an account was deleted, when, and who asked. We keep it so we can prove the deletion happened if you or a regulator ever ask.

None of the kept items carry your name, email, avatar, or any way to identify you.

This cannot be undone. There is no grace period and no restore. If you want a copy of anything first, take it before you delete. The Games screen has a share button that saves a bundle of your games, public profile, wallet and statistics. For a complete copy including your email address and private profile, email us at the address below and ask for a data export before you delete the account.

Deleting some data without closing your account

You do not have to delete everything to change your mind about one thing:

Children and guardians

A guardian linked to a child's account can delete that account the same way, from their own guardian screen. If a child gave us information without consent, contact us at the address above and we will delete it.
